The Holy Sigh

Protecting her Love
one lioness’ meow
shifts into a great roar
echoing across vast grasslands

until finally
she is heard and the boughs
of autumn oak tree wrap
her aching body with comfort

breathing in unity
deep audible sighs come
forth, relief settles in
fear is soothed and assuaged.

Pulling to the center
of tree’s living core
Beloved’s roots assure of
God’s great faithfulness!

Psalm 122

I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
Now our feet are standing within your gates, O Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is built as a city that is at unity with itself.
To which the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord,
the assembly of Israel, to praise the name of the Lord.
For there are the thrones of judgement, the thrones of the house of David.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you.
Peace be within your walls, and quietness within your towers.
For my kindred and companions’ sake, I pray for your prosperity.
Because of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek to do you good.”

Finding Inner Peace

Whether or not your personal life has seemed perfectly good this past week, the international news from Israel and Palestine has been horribly disturbing. Perhaps you’re like me, and have learned to take the news in small bites, pausing to remember where you are in this moment. By turning away from the tv, then experiencing the space where you are with all the senses, it is possible to bring yourself back to your own life. What do you see, hear, smell, touch, and taste? In this situation, popping a peppermint into your mouth can help as well.

Rather than dwelling on situations we cannot control, we turn to God and release our tears for those who were tragically lost in such a violent way.

From time to time a breath prayer is helpful. Inhale God’s love, then exhale peace. Gently resting in the Light of Christ, we pray from our hearts for the kindred souls who are in shock, enfold them in compassionate love, and ask that each one receives healing and restoration. Rev.Meghan Don, Award-winning author and Death & Dying Guide. (www.MeghanDon.Life) wrote this meaningful prayer that I will pray each time I hear the death toll rising.

Dear Angel of Mercy and the Angel of Comfort
Go to all souls who are in bewildered shock both on Earth and in the death realms
They are all my sisters
They are all my brothers
May their souls be unburdened from the fear, the pain
And loss they feel
May love find a way to bring them home
Back to a caring and protective love
May this prayer help to restore those
Who are alive and those who have died
May healing love be for all.

Be assured that your life will be blessed and be a blessing to others by your prayers and presence.
