Our Story

OUR HISTORY. OUR BELIEFS.

SHARING OUR JOURNEY

Saint Paul Benson was founded in 1930 as a merger of three existing Methodist churches in the surrounding area. Church folklore gives credit for the naming of the church to a small child who, when each child in Sunday School was given a slip of paper and asked to write their suggestion for a name, wrote “If it’s going to be a church, let’s call it St. Paul.”

Through the years, Saint Paul has been known for active support of the Benson neighborhood, a diversity of small group ministries and outreach to new neighbors.

With God’s love as our foundation, we celebrate friendship with all of God’s
people, affirming all sexual orientations and gender identities.
Together, we will seek justice for all and do good in our community, nation and
around the world in the name of Jesus Christ.
